New Skokie Walmart Seeks to Hire 300 Associates

The store, slated to open this summer, is looking for both full- and part-time staff.

The following is from Walmart:

Walmart will hire approximately 300 associates to work at the new Walmart slated to open this summer in Skokie. Applicants can apply for the Skokie Walmart Supercenter (store 1998) online at http://careers.walmart.com or at the hiring kiosks located in existing Walmart Stores.

The closest Walmart stores are:  the Walmart Store at 5630 W. Touhy Ave. in Niles, the Walmart Supercenter at 8500 W. Golf Road also in Niles, and the Walmart Supercenter at 4626 W. Diversey Ave. in Chicago.

Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months.* Interested veterans may find out more at http://walmartcareerswithamission.com.

According to store manager Tim Sutherland, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates. “I’ve been with Walmart for 24 years and I look forward to meeting applicants who are interested in starting careers at the new Skokie Walmart,” said Sutherland.

Walmart provides a benefits program to eligible full- and part-time associates. For example, it provides a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including health-care coverage with no lifetime maximum. Walmart also offers eligible associates matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly incentive based on store performance.

The majority of new associates will begin work in June to help prepare the store for its grand opening.

*Veterans must be within 12 months of active duty and meet Walmart’s standard hiring criteria.

No Mildred I just got tired of Mr. Jordan Zoot always calling me names , putting me down , telling me to go Kill myself , have a Heart Attack , step in front of a Bus !! ETC .... Enough is Enough that had nothing to due with the issue at hand on Evanston Patch . Me and my husband own a Business in Evanston , Sad being we actually know him and he has done our business taxes , was our Tax Accounted until my husband saw how he was talking to me ! Its a small world and you never know who the other person on the other end is , we gave Mr. Zoot allot of Business no more. I really am a nice Lady , I just had enough and gave right back to him so no I not on meds , Just high on Life , Loving Evanston & my Business & seeing my kids grow ! Have a Nice Day
