Sweet Dreams Cafe Closes Monday

The 9-year-old business shared the news with disappointed customers on Facebook Sunday.

Sweet Dreams Organic Bakery and Cafe announced Sunday that it will be closing after nine years in business. Monday is its last day.

The cafe shared the news on its Facebook page and website. As of last week, the business said on its Facebook page that it was only closing for two weeks for a vacation after New Year's Eve.

Under the heading, "Farewell & Sweet Dreams," the business, located at 1107 Waukegan Rd., wrote the following on its website: "Nine years ago, we had the dream of bringing delicious organic food to the people of the North Shore and we are grateful for the many people we have introduced to the organic way and for those who supported us all along. It has been our pleasure to serve you all!"

The news was immediately met with disappointment from the cafe's fans.

"Truly bad news. Thank you for the years of quality dining and a beautiful place to enjoy your food," one person wrote on Facebook.

"So disaapointed. Sweet Dreams has been a gem in Glenview for the past 9 years. You will be missed dearly," wrote another.

The Facebook page adds that people should sign up for the business' newsletter to get information about ordering wedding cakes and other organic baked goods.
