Walmart Shows Interest in Northbrook

Retail giant will make proposal at next board meeting for bid for the lot near Skokie Blvd. and Dundee Rd.

Walmart will make its initial presentation for a store near the intersection of Skokie Blvd. and Dundee Road at Tuesday’s Northbrook Village Board meeting, according to Village President Sandy Frum.

"I'm not cutting them off," Frum said at Pinstripes on Monday during the annual State of the Village presentation. "I want them to make their case, I want the community to make its case."

The presentation by the retail giant will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Northbrook Village Hall. This will be the closest Walmart store to Glenview. The closest locations now are in Wheeling and Niles.

Walmart doesn't fit in with the Northshore, but that is my opinion.

Pray tell Tim, why doesn't it fit?

The Niles Walmart on Golf road is much closer to most parts of Glenview than the proposed Northbrook location.

I'm curious too. I'm not a Walmart fan, but that sounds a bit elitist, don't you think?

Northbrook and Glenview are not the North Shore. However, they are great villages.

Northbrook, north shore. Both of the north family.

Sounds like an informative meeting. Local officials need to coordinate and intensify efforts toRead More properly manage storm water from major storm systems that are much more common than they used to be.
