Glenview New Church Preschool is in the side bar, but we can't vote for it. Why not? I vote Glenview New Church School's Preschool program!! 74 Park Drive, Glenview. Warm, safe, friendly, awesome! Well researched curriculum, clear academic results, and still very human and open and kind. Highly recommend you consider them in your search.

You forgot St Catherine Laboure Preschool. They'd get my vote.

@Erin, Yes, Glenview New Church Preschool was among the nursery schools nominated by readers and we included them in our list but accidentally omitted the school name from our poll. They have been added and you should now be able to cast your vote! Please let us know if you have any additional questions: joanna@patch.com

@AConcernedParent, All nursery schools listed here (and all businesses listed in any of the 25 Readers' Choice categories) were nominated by Patch readers during our nomination period, June 18-July 9, which we promoted on the site. If you don't see St. Catherine Laboure Preschool on the list, that means it did not receive any nominations. If there's a business not included that you'd like to share a shout-out for, we encourage you to voice praise here in the comments section or on Facebook: www.facebook.com/GlenviewPatch

I taught at the Glenview New Church Preschool for 15 years and loved it. The parents were involved and there was a family-oriented feel to it. The New Church approach is wholistic and embracing of all faiths and traditions. I started the school's organic garden, which today is more than ever a favorite spot for the children to learn all sorts of things about the world and "find themselves" in the process. This preschool is a hidden gem in Glenview.

@Roxanne, I wish my nursery school experience involved an organic garden. Sounds amazing! See you tomorrow at the Farmers' Market :)

Glenview 34 Integrated program--it is the smallest, but it was the best!
Laura Barger July 26, 2012 at 05:30 PM
Warm, caring, excellent teacher-student ratio, a focus on the whole child, a beautiful and natural park-like setting that the children experience on a regular basis -- Glenview New Church Preschool gets my vote!

Glenview Methodist Preschool is the best! All four of my children went there and it is a nurturing, warm environment where children are encouraged to explore, grow and flourish. (Disclaimer: I taught there as well, after my children attended, and it is just as wonderful from the teacher side as from the parent side.)

St. David's Nursey School gets my vote!!! Warm, loving and experienced teachers, a focus on the individual child, beautiful, sunny facility and playground, lots of parent involvement, fun family events- - ALL AROUND AWESOME SCHOOL!!! CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT ST. DAVID'S!!!! Mariette Lindt, parent

The Glenview New Church Preschool is a fun-loving program with a good mix or child vs. teacher directed goals. The curriculum combined with the indoor/outdoor environment helps employ the inner and outer strengths of each child and aims to fulfill each child morally, physically socially and to the best of their academic ability.

This past Spring I was searching for the right preschool for my daughter and visited many of the schools listed - Creme de la Creme, St. Davids Nursery School, Glenview Methodist Nursery School, Glenview Community Church Preschool and Glenview New Church Preschool. It is such an overwhelming decision to make... I have to say, I really liked each place that I visited and feel that I couldn't go wrong with any of them - they all appeared to be very nurturing environments with very caring teachers. I know families that have sent their children to each of the schools that I visited and they all have been so pleased with their programs. I didn't visit any of the other schools - only because I felt very satisfied that I couldn't go wrong with the 5 that I did visit. I have heard good things about others on the list as well. In the end, we decided Glenview New Church Preschool is a great fit for our family (I am not a member of the church). My daughter was able to participate in the 2-week preschool program just before summer and I felt good about where she was and who she was with each day while at school. It's hard to let someone else take care of my child so this was very emotional for me --- but it was such a relief!

Glenview community church is a wonderful learning environment! Amazing staff and it's a true community. Parents, teachers, and kids. We moved out here from the city and was guided to GCCNS, and it was the best decision we made.

Not sure how many preschools you have looked into but Glenview New Church Preschool by far has the most fantastic campus along with personal and loving teaching staff. Probably you should check it out for yourself!

I'd also like to vote for St. Catherine, but it isn't in the list. Half and full day options for preschool and we've had wonderful experiences with all of our kids there!

Open Arms Childcare on Chestnut is easily one of the best. Full Court Gym for the winter time, a true library for book reading, a huge grass field for the Spring and Fall, plus Christmas and Spring shows. It is the best kept secret in Glenview... perhaps that it is why it did not appear on your list. (Father of 2 children who attend Open Arms and LOVE IT!)

My Daughter started at Glenview New Church Preschool in January this year. I can't tell you how amazed my husband and I were at how quickly our shy little girl came out of her shell and how quickly she grew socially and academically! She is so happy and always wants to go to school. She has the most wonderful, caring teachers who are always trying to give the children a hands on experience. This spring the children watched as two tadpoles ( they were huge) transformed int frogs. The children would come in and go straight to the tank to see the changes! They also watched the life cycle of butterflies progressing from ting catepillers to beautiful butterflies. GNCS gets my vote for sure!

When touring the preschools in Glenview several years ago, I knew the decision would be tough. I liked them all! But we ultimately chose Glenview Community Church Nursery School, partly due to scheduling reasons but mainly because of how welcomed we were in their community. The word "Community" in the name is more than just a title. They really take this to heart. We have been very happy with our time at GCCNS. Also, note this is a NON-DENOMINATIONAL preschool; no religion is taught in the classroom. All creeds and faiths are welcomed here.

St. David's Nursery School is the BEST preschool around!! Our whole family loves the staff, the curriculum, the activities, and the other families! Stop in and see, you will love it :)))

My son attended Glenview Community Church Nursery School and I would recommend this pre-school without hesitation. Alex is entering 2nd grade in the fall, yet we still talk about all the fun things he did and the fond memories that we have from our time at GCCNS. The teachers and staff are incredible. The teachers treated each child as an individual, bringing out the best in each one. The teachers often shared stories with me of my son’s interactions with others in his classroom. These were sweet stories that I’m so glad that the teachers were interested enough in my child to observe and thoughtful enough to share with my husband and me. The school has strong parent participation that contributes to a “family” atmosphere. I count many of the parents and families that I met during our time at GCCNS as friends to this day. I was very pleased with the school, classroom, and programs at GCCNS. Our time at GCCNS was enjoyable and we are lucky to be able to count the GCCNS staff and teachers as our friends. One note; this poll is not comparing apples to apples. Glenview Community Church Nursery School is a half-day program whereas some of the others are specifically full day child-care facilities. However, if you are looking for a half-day program, I would recommend this school to anyone without hesitation. It is the best in Glenview.

Glenview Methodist Preschool (GMPS) is the best! We moved from the city in December 2012 and enrolled our boys at GMPS mid-year. The director, teachers and other parents were so very welcoming, which made it a smooth transition for our entire family. The director and my four year old son's teacher went out of their way to make sure he felt like he was immediately part of the class. From volunteering in the class, it is evident that they work with each child to challenge him/her; they address strengths and weaknesses on an individual basis. The staff is also very loving. My two year old struggled with attachment issues. The director and teacher were so helpful and understanding. We truly feel part of a wonderful family at GMPS, and I'm so happy we have many more years there!

Our family was at St. David's for eight years! It is truly an amazing place, especially for young families! Because of the incredible environment created by the best teachers and staff ever! You find yourself in such a loving, safe, happy, nurturing environment you almost dont realize how much your child is learning!! And my children in enjoyed their classmates so much! They are still good friends with many of them, even my oldest in 6th grade! BUT I too have met so many wonderful friends that I do include on my short list of reason why I voted St. David's the best preschool in Glenview!!!!
