Combined Insurance Names Doug Abercrombie Senior Vice President, Chief Agency Officer

Glenview, Ill. – January 28,  2014 – Combined Insurance a leading provider of individual supplemental accident, disability, health and life insurance products, and an ACE Group company,  announced today that it has named Doug Abercrombie, senior vice president, chief agency officer. Abercrombie replaces Ralph Gaudio, who recently announced his retirement.

As Combined Insurance’s chief agency officer, Abercrombie will oversee and lead the company’s U.S. sales organization, including strategic planning, market development, and territory and sales growth. 

Abercrombie began his career as a sales agent with Combined Insurance more than 30 years ago. He quickly moved into management roles and since then has served as branch manager; regional manager; national director of manpower and management development; divisional manager; director, national strategy team; and senior vice president, east national sales. Most recently, Abercrombie served as senior vice president-zone manager, a position he held until his current promotion to senior vice president and chief agency officer in January of this year.

Abercrombie, 52, and his wife, Susan, live in Mooresville, N.C. and will be relocating to Illinois, where he will work out of the company’s corporate headquarters in Glenview.
