Meatheads and Chicago Bears Kicker Robbie Gould's Public Charity, The Goulden Touch, "Kick Off" the School Year with $5K Donation to Help Chicagoland Education, Social Services, Health and Wellness

Chicago, IL – From June 17th to August 31st, Meatheads offered a special burger for the summer, “The Goulden Burger,” in honor of Chicago Bears kicker Robbie Gould and his public charity, The Goulden Touch. Gould’s public charity partnered with the restaurant to create a burger compiled with all of his favorites: a ⅓ lb. Meatheads burger topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato, Ketchapolte, American cheese, and spicy Cajun fries for a “kick.”

Meatheads customers loved the burger! In fact, there were 7,885 Goulden Burgers sold, and with 10 percent of the sales price from each burger donated to the public charity, $5,114.15 was generated for The Goulden Touch (www.gouldentouch.org), which supports education, social services, health and wellness, as well as medical research programs in Chicago. Like Meatheads, Gould has a special interest in helping kids with reading. Both partnered with Working in the Schools (WITS,www.witschicago.org), an organization that offers tutoring and mentoring programs for Chicago Public School children. At the start of the summer, the organizations donated money for book bags and reading material. And the Meatheads $5K was presented to Gould at a Monday Night Football event for The Goulden Touch in Chicago on September 9, 2013.

“Helping kids read all summer to prevent the summer slide is a goal for us every year,” said Tom Jednorowicz, Founder and CEO of Meatheads. “This year, we had a winning partnership with Robbie Gould of The Goulden Touch and Working in the Schools as both shared our commitment to education and reading.”
