Violence in the Media

By the age of 12, most children have been exposed to tens of thousands of acts of violence on television, in video games and on the internet. Repeat exposure to violence in the media can desensitize your child to violence. While most parents talk to their teens about issues such as drugs and alcohol use, few parents talk about media violence. Take a few minutes today to talk to your child, teen or even your family and friends about violence and what they see in the media.
