Music Great Cowboy Troy's New Release "King Of Clubs" A Breath Of Fresh Air For Country Music Fans & "Hick-Hop" Lovers Alike!

For a long time, when you thought of Country Music Legends Big & Rich, it was almost impossible not to think of Cowboy Troy. Especially Troy Coleman’s exciting debut on their hugely successful “Horse Of A Different Color.”
To use a basketball analogy, from the opening tip, when Big & Rich literally introduce Cowboy Troy to country music fans everywhere through “Rollin,” the genre would never, ever, be the same again.
Once Cowboy Troy entered the “Hick-Hop” fray (as he so affectionally likes to call it), the genre was turned on it’s ear and a whole new legion of fans jumped on the proverbial bandwagon.
To Big & Rich’s delight, Troy’s creativity and talent, as both a singer-songwriter and brillant lyricist, redefined the genre with freshness and a streamlined ability to communicate his message candidly but also with perspective.
While Cowboy Troy rapped and sang about “Country music, without prejudice,” he also did it with class and humor while being smart about not taking himself too seriously, which made him all the more endearing to a whole new set of country music & hip-hop fans that were drawn in by the buzz of what was being introduced.
Whether it was intentional or not, “Cowboy Troy” was/is a pioneer and there’s no mistaking the impact this astute artist and musician has had on two major genre’s of music. Growing up in Ft. Worth Texas, Troy’s parents would listen to country stalwarts like Willie Nelson, Jerry Reed (another great artist with a sense of humor and probably underrated), Charlie Daniels, Kenny Rogers, etc.
However, to Big & Rich’s credit, they recognized Troy’s unique ability to communicate an important message about love and acceptance through a one of a kind means that had never previously made quite the impact that Cowboy Troy has ultimately made.
While there’s no denying Troy’s stature: 6 ft 5’ and his obvious presence, Troy can sing and rap about partying with the best in the business, Troy is also cerebral and smart in his crafting of his lyrics. For music fans who pay close attention, Troy’s message of acceptance regardless of skin-tone is an important one that spoke to his early legion of fans.
Those same fans have enjoyed tracking Cowboy Troy’s success through the year’s, from his early days with Big & Rich, to his current tours with both Big & Rich and presently as a standout performer with his own tour.
So, after charting twice with Warner Music, Troy has come full circle and has now been resigned by Warner Music Nashville and the timing could not be more crucial or better.
"King Of Clubs" is pure Cowboy Troy: Exciting music with all sorts of excellent surprises, including guest appearances by the aforementioned Big & Rich and Big Smo, on Cut #1, “Drink Drank Drunk," Bubba Sparxxx and Sinister on “Club Criminal,” Sinister, on my personal favorite, (and a complete facelift of the classic) “Giddy Up,” Rope It Off, Daisy Dukes And Cowboy Boots, (again, featuring Big & Rich), and “Mack Truck” (Hick-Hop version featuring Moonshine Bandits, D. Thrash of Jawga Boyz and John Rich. “Buzzed Up,” features Goodnight Fellows and finally, “Is Everybody Doing OK, features Mickie James, and “The Cowboy” James Storm.
Cowboy Troy’s newest offering will have fans (literally) dancing in the streets and in the clubs and there’s no possibility of sitting still or meditating when Cowboy Troy and his posse are in full gear.
Expect plenty of radio play and several cuts to receive major market attention. “Giddy Up” should be coming to a radio station near you momentarily with “Drink Drank Drunk,” and “Daisy Dukes And Cowboy Boots” not far behind.
The club DJ’s will be reveling in this tasty, very dancable and sexy CD when it hits the ground running. More over, there’s not a weak link out of the 8 songs, particularly due to the raw yet beautifully produced quality, crunchy guitars and endless, danceable hooks associated with each and every cut. Cowboy Troy delivers high energy with poetic vengeance!  I am predicting several radio-friendly opportunities and Troy’s first venture into multiplatinum with his latest effort with 2014’s King Of Clubs, debuting on March 11th.

Props to Warner Music Nashville for resigning this important artist who should remain on the charts for the long haul. Fans attending Cowboy Troy’s tour to support King Of Clubs will be treated to a real workhorse in the music industry.
Troy’s presence goes well beyond his tall stature. His stage presence and ability to engage with his audience is second to none-hence, Big & Rich’s continued faith in intermittently featuring Cowboy Troy on their major tour venues and enthusiasm for cross-promoting one another’s music over the past decade.
Don’t be surprised to one day see Cowboy Troy capture a CMA with this latest effort
