Woman Crashes Car Through Window of Glenview Doctor’s Office

Police say an elderly woman lost control of her vehicle and plowed into a building at 908 Waukegan Road.

It was an eventful day at in Glenview.

Around 2:50 p.m., police say a 78-year-old Glenview resident was turning northbound from Henley onto Waukegan when she struck another vehicle traveling north.

According to police, she subsequently lost control of her vehicle, went over a curb, struck a light pole that fell on an unoccupied car and then hit Richart’s chiropractic office, 908 Waukegan Road.

“No one was in the building when it happened, the office was closed for lunch from 2-3 p.m.,” Dr. Robert Richart told Path with relief early this evening. “We can replace the glass and replace everything else. It’s people that are the most important."

and were called to the scene and the elderly driver was issued a "failure to yield turning left" citation, Sgt. David Sostak explained. Her vehicle was towed away and the woman was picked up by a family member after being treated and released at the scene, Sostak said.

Richart said his offices will reopen tomorrow at 11 a.m. in a vacant medical office three doors down from his damaged office space.

"I will be relocating there until repairs are made and the village building inspector gives us approval to reopen," he said.
