Whew, it's Hot! Here's Where To Get Cool.

Cooling centers open their doors around the north suburbs.

Is everyone sweating yet?

As of 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, the temperature had reached 99 degrees at Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). And the heat was only expected to continue, with a excessive heat warning in effect through 4 a.m. Friday.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the high 90s and even reach 100 degrees Wednesday afternoon and Thursday, with heat index values of 110 to 115 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

If you need a place to get cool, the  is among the designated cooling centers in suburban Cook County. Located at 161 Northfield Rd in Northfield, the center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
