Erin Kaya Art Exhibit at YMCA Community Gallery

The North Suburban YMCA's Community Gallery will showcase the artwork of Northbrook-based painter/photographer Erin Kaya, beginning with an opening night reception on Friday, March 1 from 6:00 to 8:00. The public is invited to meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments while touring the exhibit, which will run through the month of March.

After earning a BFA from the University of Kansas, Kaya traveled throughout the world studying a broad range of artistic styles and methods. Her creations in the YMCA show feature a Turkish technique called marbling, in which she manipulates specially-formulated oil paints floating in water and then photographs the colorful abstract patterns that result.

The exhibit will feature approximately 30 works, most of which will be available for purchase. A portion of sale proceeds will benefit the North Suburban Y's Visual Arts Department.
