The Irish Connoisseur is kicking off the St. Patrick's Day celebrations with an Irish Soda Bread Contest. Contestants can dust off the family recipe and submit their prize winning soda breads on Friday, March 7th until 7 pm at the Irish Connoisseur. The Irish Connoisseur and Kitchens and Bath Unlimited will open their doors for a public sampling on Saturday, March 8th and the community can enjoy soda breads with butter and jam and a good cup of Irish tea from 10am to 1pm. Breads will be judged between 1 AND 2 PM by our panel of judges: Mary Ann Ahern of Channel 5 News, Margaret Tower of DePaul University, Kerry Cummings Of Northern Trust Bank, Denny Hebson Jr. of Schafer Condon Carter Ad Agency and Paul Biebel, Megan's very first customer.
