Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise February 9, 2012 Program Speaker U.S. State's Attorney Laurie Barsella


The program speaker for the Thursday morning, February 9th, 2012 Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise meeting will be Attorney Laurie J. Barsella and the topic will be The Role of the U.S. Department of Justice in International Law Enforcement.  Attorney Barsella’s distinguished career includes being an Assistant United States Attorney from 2003 until 2007 during which she handled federal investigations, trials and appeals in cases involving complex federal crimes such as public corruption and financial fraud, and was involved in the public corruption trial against Illinois Governor George Ryan.  Her international experience has included being the Senior Counsel for International Law Enforcement for the American Embassy U.S. Department of Justice Criminal
Division in Rome, Italy and as Senior Trial Attorney in the European Group Criminal Division, Office of International Affairs.

The Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise invites members of the public interested in this program and in community service to attend.  The entry fee of $12 includes the program and the breakfast buffet.  Because of limited seating an RSVP is required and can be made by contacting Richard Hill at 847-562-0199 prior to Wednesday,

Founded in Chicago over 100 years ago, Rotary is a world-wide, non-denominational service organization. The Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise is active in a wide variety of community and international service projects and is affiliated with Rotary International to advance numerous humanitarian projects, including the drive to eradicate polio worldwide.  The Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise has weekly club meetings at the Glenview Park Golf Club Café at 800 Shermer Road in Glenview. The meetings begin at 7 AM and feature a weekly speaker and members of the public interested in community service are welcome to attend.
