Glenview Teen Raising Funds for Music Equipment at Gemini Junior High

One Glenview student wants to help his music teacher outfit the classroom with 20 keyboards.

After he learned his music teacher spent her own money to buy music equipment for students, Gemini Junior High School student DJ wanted to help.

So the Glenview resident started a fundraising campaign to help his music teacher, Miss Achille, buy 20 new keyboards.

"It is also my understanding that she is teaching the drums, by using large buckets," his mother writes on their fundraising website. "I love that she hasn't given up due to lack of musical instruments."

So far, DJ has raised $380 toward his goal of $1,500 to support music education at Gemini Junior High School.

This wonderful boy is my son, and I couldn't be more proud of him. Thank you Glenview Patch for printing this article, hopefully it will generate more donations for Ms. Achille. On a non-related note, I would love to order several papers to pass out to our family. Let me know how I can go about that. Thanks again!

Marilyn, thank you for reading! Unfortunately, we are an online only publication so your best bet is to hit the "print" button on the story.
