Donate Halloween Candy to Benefit GBS Teacher's Nephew in Afghanistan

Bring in candy or other items to send to someone deployed to Afghanistan.

Had enough of the Halloween candy lying around your house?

Then donate it to the Titans Care Drive, which benefits Mitchell McGraw, who is currently deployed to Afghanistan and whose uncle, Randy McGraw, is a GBS guidance counselor.

Fellow guidance counselor Matt Drone will be collecting donated items and money in his office through Nov. 26, according to the school's website. Beyond candy, suggested items include the following:

  • unscented lotions with aloe
  • unscented liquid soap
  • foot powder/spray
  • eyeglass wipes/hand wipes
  • bug spray with DEET
  • lip balm with SPF (UVA/UVB)
  • sun block
  • current DVDs/CDs
  • puzzle books
  • deck of cards
  • board games
  • candy/gum/mints
  • chips/pretzels/trail mix
  • beef jerky/summer sausage
  • cookies
  • cereal or granola bars
  • protein bars/pop tarts
  • coffee/coffee mat
  • powdered Gatorade
  • powdered drink packets
  • fruit snacks/dried fruit
Checks should be made payable to GBS (with "Operation: Titans Care" in the memo). Any money will be used for postage or to supplement the donation.
