GBS Improv Fundraiser Supports Towns Affected by Tornado

A Comedy Sportz improv night on Wednesday, Dec. 11, raises funds for tornado relief in Washington, IL.

Glenbrook South and Glenbrook North students are warming up their best jokes to help raise funds for those affected by the tornado in downstate Illinois.

Ten students from each school will face off against one another in a Comedy Sportz improvisational fundraiser on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Last year's event raised nearly $2,000 for cancer research, and 100 percent of this year's proceeds will go to tornado relief in Washington, IL, according to the school's website.

"Everyone wins in this competition because it all goes to a good cause,” theatre director Julie Ann Robinson said in a release. “We hope we can make a difference, especially since they had to cancel their upcoming play.”

The fundraiser takes place at 7:30 p.m. at Glenbrook North. Tickets are $10, and seating is limited.
