Where to Get a Picture With Santa on the North Shore for Christmas 2013

Here's a list of when and where you can get your pictures with Santa this year around the North Shore.

Kids can listen to holiday stories from Mrs. Claus and get a picture with Santa during this event on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Book Market, 2651 Navy Boulevard in Glenview. Bring a camera to snap a photo with the big guy. Free.

WINNETKA

The Winnetka Park District and the Winnetka-Northfield Chamber of Commerce will have Santa Claus at Hubbard Woods Park on Saturday, December 7 from 1:00- 3:00 pm. NORTHBROOK

Bring your pet to Heartland Animal Shelter Saturday, Dec. 7, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. and get a photo with Santa Paws for a $5 donation. Electronic photos will be emailed after the event. http://www.heartlandanimalshelter.net/Events.html

Santa will visit Northbrook Court throughout November and January. Find him on the lower level, near Neiman Marcus Nov. 29 through Dec. 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays. LAKE FOREST

Santa will stop by Lake Forest’s tree-lighting ceremony at 4 p.m. Nov. 29 at Market Square.

Santa will visit the Lake Forest Oasis on the Tri-State Tollway (I-94) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1. Donations can also be made through the Toys for Tots collection box there on that day and through Dec. 18.

LIBERTYVILLE

Santa is making his annual trek to Lambs Farm Dec. 14, 15, 21 and 22.. Brunch is $15.95, $7.95 for children 23 months and younger, with activities. Seatings are available at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and noon on Dec 14, 21 and 22, and at 10:30 a.m. and noon on Dec. 15. Call Lambs Farm’s Magnolia Cafe & Bakery for reservations at (847) 362-5050.

Dogs love Santa, too! Our House of Hope K-9 Rescue invites the whole whole to visit from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Adler Park Lodge (behind the pool), 1500 Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. A second visit will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at Pets General Store - The Dog Lounge, 432 Peterson Road, Libertyville. All well-behaved pets are welcome, but please no retractable leashes for safety reasons.  For each $15 donation to Our House of Hope, guests will receive one 4x6 digital photo to take home and the option to order reprints in time for the holidays. VERNON HILLS

Santa will visit Loyola at Cuneo Mansion and Gardens, 1350 N. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills, from 6:30-9 p.m. Dec. 13. Admission is $5 per person (children under 3 are free) plus $10 per car, which covers admission to the holiday light show.

Santa arrived Nov. 15 at Westfield Hawthorn Shopping Center and will be there almost daily (he’s taking Thanksgiving Day off) through Christmas Eve. Visitors can find him from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Exceptions to the schedule are on Nov. 29, when he’ll greet his first visitor at 9 a.m.; Dec. 22, when he’ll be on hand from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and on Dec. 24, when he’ll greet children from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHEELING

Have your child’s photo taken with Santa at this Dec. 14 breakfast buffet event at Chevy Chase Country Club. Carolers will provide entertainment. Registration is due by Dec. 6 by calling (847) 465-3333. The event is $30 per person (residents $25); $10 for children 4 and under.

NILES

Visit Santa at Golf Mill Shopping Center at his Santa Village in Center Court. You can take a photo with him Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

SKOKIE

Santa is visiting Skokie three times this season. On Saturday Dec. 7, have breakfast with him from 9 to 11 a.m. at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Westfield Old Orchard Mall. $15.95 per person, register in advance.

On Dec. 14, he’ll visit the gazebo in the little park at Lincoln and Oakton from 2 to 6 p.m., and you can take a photo and meet his elves and reindeer, too (from 4 to 6 p.m.). Or  meet the jolly fellow (register in advance) for the  Saturday, Dec. 21,  pancake breakfast and entertainment at the Skokie Park District’s Oakton Community Center, 4701 Oakton Street, Skokie.

EVANSTON

Breakfast and Photos With Santa in Evanston

Join Santa Claus for breakfast and a photo at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St. in Evanston. Seatings take place at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30. $10 per person age 12 and up, $7 per person age 3-11, free under age 3.

Take a Pet Photo With Santa at Evanston's C.A.R.E. Faire

The C.A.R.E. Animal Shelter fair includes pet photos with Santa, pet related crafts, a silent auction and a "cookie walk" from 1330 Ridge Ave. in Evanston from 11 a.m. to  Bring a donation of bleach, paper towels or canned food for the animal shelter.

Snap a Pic With Santa Claws at PetSmart Evanston

Bring a camera to take your pet's photo with Santa at PetSmart Evanston, 2221 Oakton St., from11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 14. Pet owners are asked to donate $5 to their local animal welfare group.

GURNEE

Santa arrived Nov. 15 at Gurnee Mills and he’ll be there daily through Dec. 24. Gurnee Mills features a special Santa display made from more than 25,000 colorful holiday balloons in Grange Hall. The display includes Santa and his reindeer, a 400-foot Christmas garland, Christmas trees and presents, ornaments, candy canes, 10-foot-high balloon arches and more.

Santa will be at Gurnee Mills during the following hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with "milk and cookie breaks" from 1-1:30 p.m. and 4:30-5:15 p.m.; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, with a break from 2:15-2:45 p.m.; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 22 and 23, with breaks from 1-1:30 p.m. and 4:30-5:15 p.m.; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 24, with a break from 1-11:45 p.m.
