My husband and I have regularly walked this beautiful park for the last 27 yrs or so. We have counted over 9 more dying trees in this past season around it's perimeter- this summer alone. I'm aware of the ash borer that left 27 older trees cut down near the childrens swings, many of which were not even ash trees at all. This was last year-all while while the trees looked perfectly healthy. Can't we replace these forgotten trees? Someone had given the 'ok' a few weeks after the 27 were cut down (2012)to have a small bush placed by every fallen tree instead, (during our record breaking heat last summer). Needless to say, each 'bush' died. Trees produce oxygen, and offer shade, and make the world a more beautiful place to live. What can I do to help?
