Botox...a little too much, Kylie?

The world of being a pop star is dog eat dog, to say the least. It's made for the young, who already have notoriously short attention spans, made all the shorter with things like the internet, Twitter, texting, etc.

It's also largely inhabited by the young, who find their stardom for a brief moment, and hopefully, if they make enough royalties off t-shirt sales while avoiding costly drug habits, will not end up broke, in jail, or both and the subject of yet another episode of VH-1's Behind the Music.

No doubt that the maws of this beast of pop stardom are no friend of the aged (meaning anyone over 18), which makes Kylie Minogue all the more exceptional because at 45, she is still finding ways to wow audiences, even after a well publicized battle with breast cancer.

Still, she is human, and as this photo suggests, all too human...at least in terms of judgement (or should I say her doctor's judgement!) because with the aid of a little too much Botox in the forehead, she has lost a touch of the warmth of a smile that make her, and all of us, human.

With a totally frozen forehead, and no movement in her eyebrows, Kylie has that classic empty and reptilian look that is associated with too much of this popular poison.

Certainly, if you are an aging catwalk model, who has that perpetual scowl that often accompanies the haute coutre world of high end fashion, Botox may be just the thing for you, and in fact, the more the better.

But if you plan on smiling** every once in awhile, you may want to pick a surgeon with some judgement.

**I do specifically mean smiling in a warm way, and not hanging your tongue out like a bulldog in summer. Botox probably won't work for you then ;)
