$100K Worth of Jewelry Stolen in Burglary

Also featured in this week's blotter: A Des Plaines man was arrested in relation to a burglary that occurred in December.

The following reports were provided by the Glenview Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and do not indicate guilt.

Burglary Arrest

On May 10, Bastri Feka, 23, of Des Plaines, was arrested on the 5600 block of Old Orchard Road and charged with residential burglary, according to police. The charge is related to an incident that occurred on Dec. 23, 2012 on the 300 block of Elm Street, police say.

Retail Theft

On May 11, Linda Lamet, 44, of Northbrook, was arrested on the 1900 block of Tower Drive and charged with retail theft, according to police.

Residential Burglary

On May 6, a resident on the 4400 block of Ivy Drive reported someone burglarized their home, according to police. Entry was made by brute force through the front door, numerous rooms in the house were ransacked and $100,000.00 worth of jewelry was reported taken, police say.

On May 8, a resident on the 4700 block of Larch Avenue reported their home was burglarized, according to police. Entry was made by prying open an exterior door but it was unclear if anything was taken, police say.

Attempted Residential Burglary

On May 8, a resident on the 1900 block of Ivy Lane reported someone attempted to gain entry to their residence by prying open an exterior door, according to police. Approximate cost of damage is $100.00.

On May 11, a resident on the 1900 block of North Drive reported someone tried to get into their home by forcing open the front door, according to police.  The homeowner reported seeing someone running from the scene, police say.
