$17K Worth of Jewelry and Watch Stolen from Crab Tree Lane Home

Someone also reported suspicious activity at a mailbox in this edition of the Glenview police blotter.

Residential Burglary

A resident of the 700 block of Glenridge Dr. reported that between 1:30 a.m and 3:30 p.m. on April 5, someone pried open their back door to gain entry into their home. An unknown amount of jewelry was stolen. Preliminary loss and damages is $2,600.

Someone burglarized a home in the 200 block of Crab Tree Ln., sometime on April 5. No force was used. Jewelry and a watch were stolen from the master bedroom. The estimated loss is $17,000.

Suspicious Incident

Police received a report April 5 at 8:15 p.m. that a silver sedan pulled up to a residential mailbox in the 1600 block of Elmdale and either put something into it or took something out of it. The area was checked but the vehicle was not located.

Unlawful Use of Credit Card

A resident reported losing their credit card between April 1 and 2. When they called their credit card company they were told several transactions were made in Niles. The estimated amount of unlawful charges was over $180.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

A resident of the 100 block of Glenview Rd. reported someone broke the rear taillight on their vehicle while it was parked in their driveway between April 5 and April 7. The estimated damage is $200.
