$4,500 in Jewelry Stolen on Larkdale Drive

The information in this blotter was reported by Glenview Police on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013. Where arrests are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Glenview Police Department:

Jewelry Worth $4,500 Stolen on Larkdale Drive
A resident of the 1900 block of Larkdale Drive reported that someone stole a ring and a bracelet from a jewelry box on the dresser in her master bedroom sometime between Nov. 23 and Dec. 6, according to police. The estimated loss is more than $4,500. The woman said she suspected her sister's friend's son, since he was the only non-family member at her house during the time frame.

Burglar Breaks Into Hawthorne Lane Home
Someone broke into a home in the 1400 block of Hawthorne Lane between 8:50 and 9:05 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, according to police. The burglar used brute force to enter the garage through a service door, then kicked open the door leading into the home. He or she left through a sliding glass door and headed west through the backyard toward Sunset Ridge Road, according to police. Loss and damages were estimated at $705.

Teens Cited With Underage Drinking 
Two teens were issued citations under a village ordinance for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol as a minor and possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis on Sunday, Dec. 15, in the 2500 block of Park Lane, police reported.

Men Exchange Punches at the Glen
A man reported that he got into a physical altercation with another man at the Glen Town Center, 2701 Aviator Lane, on Friday, Dec. 13, according to police. Both men exchanged punches, then left the area. Neither one wanted to pursue criminal complaints, police said. 

Necklace, Money Stolen in Employee Locker Room
An employee of Von Maur, 1960 Tower Dr., reported that someone stole a necklace and money from her coat in the employee locker room between 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, according to police. The estimated loss is $210.

Ex-Husband Calls: "You Haven't Seen Nothing Yet"
A resident of the 1400 block of Plymouth place reported that her ex-husband called six times on Sunday, Dec. 15, according to police. In two of the voicemails, he said "You haven't seen nothing yet" and "What's Poncho's name," a reference to the woman's boyfriend, who is of Mexican descent, police said. The woman did not want to press complaints.

Harassing Caller Complains About Microsoft Windows
A resident of the 1200 block of Sherwood Road reported receiving four harassing phone calls between 5:25 and 5:29 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, according to police. The caller claimed that the resident's Microsoft Windows operating system triggered an error message. 

Well-Being Check at Wyndham Hotel
An employee of the Wyndham Hotel at 1400 Milwaukee Avenue reported that a man was walking around the hotel talking to himself, giving people the finger and pulling his pants down to his ankles on Sunday, Dec. 15, according to police. When police arrived, they found the man and learned he has schizophrenia. Police gave him a ride to Park Place Hotel, where he has been staying.

Disorderly Conduct, Harassing Calls at Park Place Hotel
An employee of the Park Place Hotel, 1625 Milwaukee Ave., reported on Dec. 15 that a man who is staying at the hotel had been disturbing guests by walking and running down the hallways while talking to himself, according to police. The man came down to the lobby and told the employee, "I'm going to f*** you." The employee did not want to pursue a complaint, however.

Another employee of the hotel reported on Dec. 16 that he or she had received six harassing phone calls from a male guest, according to police. Police interviewed the guest and advised him to leave the hotel and not to return, police said. No complaints were signed.
