$4,500 Watch Stolen During Move

The information in this blotter was reported by Glenview Police between Jan. 6-7, 2014. Where arrests are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Glenview Police Department:

$4,500 Watch Stolen During Move
A resident of the 1000 block of Hunter Road reported that someone stole a watch from a jewelry box in his master bedroom closet between Dec. 24 and 27, according to police. The resident said he moved to Evanston during that time frame, and had several movers and cleaners in his home. The estimated loss is $4,500. 

Lansing Man Caught With Open Container, Charged With DUI
Timothy M. Jones, 22, of the 17700 block of Oakley Avenue in Lansing, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal transport of an open container of alcohol at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Goldenrod Lane and Violet Street, police reported. 

Teen Cited For Possession of Alcohol
Matthew Igleski, 18, of the 3000 block of Crestwood Lane in Glenview, was issued a citation for possession of alcohol as a minor outside his home at 3:24 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, police reported. 

Chicago Woman Cited For Drug Offense
Michelle Wilson, 40, of the 6400 block of North Oakley Avenue in Chicago, was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia at 10:24 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, according to police. 

Thief Steals $8,000 From Bank, Credit Accounts
A resident of the 600 block of Carriage Hill Drive reported that someone stole $8,000 from their bank and credit accounts between Aug. 1 and Dec. 25, 2013, according to police.

Fraudulent Scheme Involves Forged Check
On Dec. 31, a Glenview resident responded to an e-mail solicitation from someone claiming to work for a college of art and design in California, asking them to reply if they were interested in a photo shoot in Chicago, according to police. When the resident responded, the e-mailer sent a check and instructed the resident to deposit the check, keep $300, and send the rest to someone in Florida. After the individual sent the money, Chase Bank notified the resident that the check was fraudulent.

Identity Thieves Open Credit Card
A resident of the 2300 block of Sundrop Lane reported that someone opened a credit account using their name, birthdate and social security number on Nov. 17, 2013. The resident received a billing statement, but was able to close the account without suffering any loss. 

Jacket Stolen at Park Center
A complainant reported that someone stole their jacket, which hung in a common area near the indoor track at the Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave., while they were walking laps, according to police. The estimated loss is $100. 

Purse, Clothing Stolen at Business
A complainant reported that someone stole their purse and clothing from a locker at a business in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road between 7 and 8:17 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, according to police. The estimated loss is $100. 

Shoplifter Takes $400 in Merchandise
An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported that a customer stole $400 worth of merchandise on Saturday, Jan. 4, according to police. Officers discovered the shoplifter at a nearby business and recovered the stolen merchandise. Managers elected not to pursue criminal charges, but police issued a trespass notice to the individual.

Man Steals Vodka From Business
An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported that a man stole four bottles of vodka on Dec. 31, then got into a dark colored minivan and drove eastbound on East Lake Avenue, according to police. The loss is $110.

Thief Steals License Plate on Locust
A resident of the 4600 block of Locust Avenue reported that someone stole the rear license plate from their vehicle while it was parked in their driveway between Nov. 2 and Dec. 29, according to police. The plate was replaced with a front license plate from a different vehicle parked in the driveway, police reported. The estimated loss is $105.

Cellphone Swiped From Business, Flick Park
A complainant reported left their cell phone on the counter at a business in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue while looking at merchandise near the register on Dec. 31, according to police. When they went to their car, they realized they had left their phone on the counter. It was gone when they returned. The estimated loss is $500. 

A complainant reported that someone stole their daughter's cell phone while she was at Flick Park at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, according to police. The estimated loss is $500.

Woman Makes Vulgar Phone Calls
An employee of a business in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported that a woman was making vulgar phone calls on Friday, Jan. 3, according to police.
