$6,000 in Jewelry Stolen On Mint Lane

The information in this blotter was reported by Glenview Police on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014. Where arrests are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Glenview Police Department:

Teens Charged With Underage Drinking
Tracey Haracz, 18, of the 700 block of Glenayre Lane in Glenview, and John Thalmann, 18, of the 600 block of Glendale Drive in Glenview, were issued citations for possession of alcohol as a minor at 12:47 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, in the 1900 block of East Lake Avenue, according to police.

$6,000 in Jewelry Stolen On Mint Lane
A resident of the 2200 block of Mint Lane reported that someone stole more than 20 pieces of jewelry from a jewelry box in their home between Dec. 27, 2013, and Jan. 9, 2014. The estimated loss is more than $6,000. 

Customer's $5,760 Check Bounces
An employee of a business in the 2000 block of Lehigh Avenue reported that someone paid for merchandise with a $5,670 check on Friday, Jan. 10, and then the check bounced, according to police. 

Fraudster Uses Stolen Credit Cards at Local Business
An employee of a business in the 4300 block of Di Paolo Center reported that someone made 25 fraudulent online purchases between Oct. 28 and Dec. 16, 2013. The person took payment from legitimate customers through an online payment site, then used stolen credit card numbers to purchase items, according to police. The estimated loss is $2,8753.35.

Check Stolen From Waukegan Road Business
Someone stole an employee's check from a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, according to police. 

Northbrook Man Charged With Retail Theft
Andrzej Michalczewski, 58, of the 2200 block of Scott Terrace in Northbrook, was issued a citation for retail theft after he was caught stealing merchandise from a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard at 8:38 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, according to police.

Glenview Woman Charged With Trespassing
Laura Franco, 40, of the 1900 block of Tangelwood Drive in Glenview, was issued a citation for trespassing in the 2000 block of Valley Lo Lane at 10:25 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, according to police. 

Temporary Illinois Plate Stolen
A resident of the 0-100 block of Dartmouth Court reported that someone stole the temporary Illinois license plate from their vehicle while they ran errands in Glenview. The theft took place between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, according to police. The estimated loss is $99.

Car Burglar Swipes Handicapped Placard
Someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in a lot in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road and stole a handicapped placard between 6:30 and 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, police reported. 

Car Keyed on Bellwood Lane
Someone keyed the driver's side door of a car while it was parked in a driveway in the 3100 block of Bellwood Lane on Thursday, Jan. 9, according to police. The estimated damage is $200. 

Thief Steals Chrome Lug Nuts
Someone stole four chrome lug nuts from a car parked overnight at a business in the 2600 block of Lehigh Avenue on Tuesday, Jan. 7, police reported. The estimated loss is more than $200.

Unhappy Customer Sends Harassing Emails
An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road reported receiving harassing emails from a customer on Thursday, Jan. 9, according to police. The employee did not want to press charges.
