UPDATE: Armed Burglars Tie Up Elderly Couple, Steal $60K in Jewelry

The victims were restrained in another room while two male offenders ransacked their condo in The Cloisters.

Just before 9 p.m. Monday night, two men, one wearing a mask and armed with a handgun, broke into a condominium in The Cloisters, 1625 Glenview Road, police said this morning. According to police, the men posed as delivery men to enter the unit, housed in the same building as and . 

Once inside, the male and female victims, in their 70s, were tied up in another room, police said. The offenders fled the scene with about $60,000 in jewelry, according to police, and the victims were able to loosen their bindings and call 911.

The victims were not injured and as of 9 a.m. this morning, police said the incident is still under investigation and there are no suspects in custody.
