Burglary Attempts Reported on Kings Lane, Queens Lane, Harrison Street

The information in this blotter was reported by Glenview Police on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013. Where arrests are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following incidents were reported by the Glenview Police Department:

Attempted Burglary on Kings Lane
A resident of the 1000 block of Kings Lane reported that someone tried to pry open the sliding glass door behind their home between Oct. 15 and Nov. 15, causing $1,5000 in damage, police said.

Attempted Burglary On Queens Lane
A resident of the 1000 block of Queens Lane reported that someone tried to pry open the sliding glass door in the back of their home within the last two weeks, causing $50 in damage.

Attempted Burglary On Harrison Street
A resident of the 2200 block of Harrison Street reported that they are in the midst of rehabbing their home and have a fence around their property, and that the chain was cut to the front gate and the front door pried open between 10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, and 12:05 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, according to police. Nothing was missing from inside the home. Damage was estimated at $50. 

$15,000 In Building Materials Stolen From Trailer
Someone stole approximately $15,000 worth of building materials from a 20-foot Pace American box trailer parked in the 2000 block of Johns Drive on Monday, Nov. 18, police reported. 

Burglar Steals From Storage Units
An employee of a business in the 1700 block of Chestnut Avenue reported that someone cut the locks off multiple storage units and replaced them with different locks, according to police. One unit was confirmed to have items stolen, and the estimated loss is over $100, police said. 

Man Kicks Vehicle in Parking Lot Dispute
A complainant reported getting into an altercation on Tuesday, Oct. 19, as he walked into a business in the 800 block of Milwaukee Avenue, according to police. When another man tried to hit him, the complainant knocked the second man to the ground. The complainant tried to leave in his car, and the second man kicked the side of his vehicle, causing a large dent, police said. The estimated damage is more than $300. 

Identity Thief Charges $2,000 on Credit Card
A resident of the 700 block of Arbor Lane reported that someone changed the address on one of their credit cards, then made an unauthorized charge of $2,000 sometime at the end of October, according to police.
