Car Accident Leads to DUI Arrest

The following information was reported by Glenview Police. Where arrests are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Glenview Police Department between Oct. 14 and 16:

Mount Prospect Man Charged With DUI

Scott A. Kinsel, 23, of the 1200 block of Crabtree Lane in Mount Prospect, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after a car crash in the 4500 block of Lilac Avenue on Oct. 13, according to police.

Teen Charged With Stealing Cell Phones

A 16-year-old Glenview resident was charged with theft on Oct. 14 following an investigation of stolen cell phones, according to police.

Two Charged With Domestic Battery

A resident of Wheeling was charged with domestic battery and interference with reporting of domestic battery after he committed a battery to a family member while at a business in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue in Glenview on Oct. 14, police said. 

A 64-year-old Glenview resident was arrested and charged with domestic battery after his wife told police that he argued with her, pushed her onto the couch and choked her on Oct. 15, according to police. 

Northfield Man Charged With Marijuana Possession

Edgar Bahena, 37, of 57 S. Branch Rd. in Northfield, was issued a citation for possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis during a traffic stop Oct. 8 in the 500 block of 5th Street, according to police.

Des Plaines Man Charged With Driving Without a Valid License

Servando Astorga-Alvardo, 23, of 9604 Golf Terrace Lane in Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop in the 500 block of Milwaukee Road on Oct. 14, according to police. 

Customer Yells at Employee, Kicked Out of Store

A customer accused a store employee of switching parts on an item they had purchased from a business in the 1800 block of Glenview Road, and then started yelling at the employee on Oct. 9, according to police. The employee refunded the purchase and banned the customer from the store, police said.  

Car Burglars Shatter Windows, Steal Purses at Flick Park

Someone shattered the driver’s side window of a car parked at Flick Park, 3600 Glenview Rd., around 6:38 p.m. Oct. 11, and stole a purse worth $500 from the front seat, police said. 

At 7:03 p.m. that same day, someone also shattered the driver’s side window of another car parked at Flick Park and stole a purse worth $500 from the front seat, according to police. 

Catalytic Converters Stolen On Pfingsten

Two employees at a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road told police that the catalytic converters had been stolen from their cars between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 14, according to police. The estimated loss is $2,000 per car.

Bikes Stolen From Metra North Train Station

Someone stole a bike worth $250 from the Metra North Train Station between 7:30 a.m. and 6:05 p.m. Oct. 10, according to police. Another bike worth $800 was also stolen from the train station that same day, between 7:20 a.m. and 5:45 p.m., police said.

Bikes Stolen From Homes on West Lake, Gregory

Someone stole a bicycle worth $500 from a detached garage in the 4100 block of West Lake Avenue on Oct. 10, according to police.

Someone stole a bicycle worth $300 from a driveway near a garage in the 3800 block of Gregory Drive between 12 and 4 p.m. Oct. 13, according to police. 

Luggage Stolen From Basement

Someone stole four pieces of luggage worth $1,400 from the basement of a home in the 2500 block of Indigo Lane at 2:14 p.m. Oct. 11, according to police. 

Golf Bag Stolen From Street

A man told police that his red, white and blue golf bag fell out of his car at East Lake Avenue and Pfingsten Road. By the time he turned around to get the bag, someone had taken it from the street. Including the contents, the estimated loss is $2,000, police said.

Valve Stems Stolen From Tires

Someone stole the valve stem from all four tires of a vehicle parked in the 4500 block of Concord Lane between 4 and 8 p.m. Oct. 8, according to police. The estimated loss is $400, police said.

Gnome Figures Go Missing From Garden

A resident of the 300 block of Spruce Street told police that a marble sink countertop stored in her yard had been damaged, and that several gnome figures went missing from her garden on Oct 14. The estimated loss is $600. 

$70 Pumpkin Smashed On Independence

Someone stole the pumpkin off a porch in the 2700 block of Independence and smashed it on the driveway at 8:18 p.m. Oct. 13, police reported. The estimated loss is $70.
