Caregiver Blamed for $5,000 in Stolen Clothes

In a separate incident, a $9,000 watch was stolen from a golf bag.

The following information is from the Glenview Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Driving While License Suspended/Revoked

Piotr Dyczewski, 60, of the 900 block of E. Old Willow Rd. in Prospect Heights, was arrested in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 7 p.m. July 12 and charged with Driving With Suspended/Revoked License and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  He was released on $2,000 D-Bond with a July 30 court date.

Driving Under the Influence

Thomas Fox, 46, of the 1300 block of Sanford Ln. in Glenview, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. July 13 in the 1700 block of East Lake Ave. and charged with Driving Under the Influence-Alcohol and Speeding. He was released on a $3,000 I-Bond with an Aug. 27 court date.


A resident of the 4500 block of Concord Ln. reported July 8 that someone stole a large amount of clothing from their home. They believe a caregiver who recently quit and moved out of the country stole the clothing. The estimated loss is $5,000.

Someone stole a watch worth $9,000 from a golf bag when they left it unattended in the 2900 block of West Lake Ave. at 2 p.m. July 8.

Phone scam

The owner of a business in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Ave. reported July 8 receiving a call from a male who stated he was with the electric company and that an outstanding bill of $1,500 needed to be paid or service would be cut. The owner offered to pay by credit card and was told to purchase cash cards to pay the fee. The owner purchased three $500 cash cards and paid the male suspect. The male suspect called back and requested $1,700 more and the owner realized it was a scam. The owner called the electric company who stated no payments were received for their account.

Disorderly Conduct

An employee of a business in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Ave. reported a patron was intoxicated and causing a disturbance at 8:45 p.m. July 12  No complaints were signed and the patron went home.


A resident of the 2200 block of Golf Rd. reported July 13 that their brown leather wallet is either missing or was stolen during the last two weeks.  The estimated loss is $50..

A complainant reported someone stole their mother’s laptop computer from her residence in the 2200 block of Golf Rd. The theft occurred sometime between July 3 an 13 and the estimated loss is over $1,000.

Someone stole all four wheels from a vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot of a business in the 1500 block of Greenwood Rd. overnight July 12. The vehicle was left on concrete blocks and the estimated loss is $2,000.

Burglary (Motor Vehicle)

Someone burglarized a rental vehicle while it was parked in the 1100 block of Depot St. between 11:15 a.m. and 5:20 p.m. July 13. The rear passenger window was smashed and two carry-on luggage bags were stolen. The estimated loss is $1,150.

Criminal Damage to Property

Someone damaged a section of fence in back of property in the 4100 block of Essex Ct. July 13 or 14. The estimated damage is $100.
