Counterfeit U.S. Open Tickets Sold To Glenview Resident

The following information was reported by Glenview Police.

Deceptive Practice
On Sept. 9, a Glenview resident reported buying two tickets for the U.S. Open Tennis Championship, in person, from a man in New York for $1,600.00, according to police. They made arrangements to meet for the purchase after the resident saw an ad on the internet, police say. When the Glenview resident went to the event, the tickets were confiscated by security for being counterfeit, according to the report. The U.S. Open was held over the weekend in New York.

Telephone Harassment

On Sept. 6, an employee from a business on the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road reported receiving a harassing phone message from a customer along with 30-40 calls from the customer, according to police. 

Theft
On Sept. 9, an employee from a business on the 3100 block of Shermer Road reported someone stole 39 bronze vases overnight, worth more than $23,000.00, according to police.
