Court Update: Alleged Carjacker Switches Lawyers, Remains in Jail

Crystal Perez lured former boyfriend with promise of sex.

A Glenview woman charged with changed lawyers Aug. 16 in the Skokie branch of Cook County Circuit Court but remains in Cook County Jail unable to post the $30,000 cash portion of her $300,000 bond. 

, 19, was originally arrested April 13 for the March 30 kidnapping and carjacking of a 22-year-old Glenview man at knifepoint after luring him to her home with the . The incident left the second offender, Christopher J. Walsh, 20, dead after a brief police chase and subsequent crash.

Perez had been represented by attorney who she replaced with a new lawyer, William Fahy, at last week's status hearing, according to Cook County State’s Attorney spokesperson Andy Conklin. Neither Romano nor Fahy returned calls to Patch for a comment.

Perez next appears in court at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 21 in the Skokie branch of Cook County Criminal Court.
