Police Blotter: Threats Over a Library Computer and Multiple Burglaries

Also featured: threats in the library, theft, burglary and a suspicious call.

The Glenview Police Department provided the following reports. Charges are merely accusations and suspects are innocent until proven guilty. 

Suspicious Incident 

On Oct. 29, a resident reported that a woman called them claiming to work for a local bank and talked the victim into revealing her social security and credit card numbers, police said.

Domestic Battery

On Oct. 28, at 11:19 p.m., Joseph Wlekinski, 37, was arrested at the Glenview police station and charged with domestic battery for an incident that occurred on Oct. 25, on the 200 block of Glendale Rd., according to police.

Retail Theft

On Oct. 28, at 12L30 p.m., Robert Gluck, 72, of Chicago, was arrested in the 1900 block of Tower Dr. and charged with retail theft, police said. He was released on $1,000 bond and given a Dec. 14 court date, according to police.

DUI

On Oct. 27, at 4:13 a.m., Scott Pucci, 32, was arrested in the 1700 block of Linnemann St. and charged with DUI, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, police said. He was released on $1,500 bond and given a Dec. 11 court date, according to police.

Threats

On Oct. 22, an employee at Glenview Public Library reported that a customer made verbal threats at them, police said. It happened after the employee addressed the customer’s “inappropriate” use of a library computer, according to police.

Residential Burglary

On Oct. 24, someone who lives in the 3700 block of Countryside Ln. said that their home was burglarized by an unidentified suspect who forced open a door and stole tools and household appliances for a loss of about $5,900, police said. The incident happened between Oct. 23 and Oct. 24, according to police.

A Ruse and a Burglary

On Oct. 24, a resident in the 4100 block of Miller Dr. reported that a male suspect came to their house and convinced them to come outside while another person snuck inside and stole jewelry for a reported loss of $24,000, police said.

Motor Vehicle Burglary

On Oct. 25, a resident in the 400 block of Warren Rd. reported that someone entered two of their vehicles, parked outside their residence, and stole tools and cash for a reported loss of about $200, police said. It happened between Oct. 24 and Oct. 25, according to police.

On Oct. 26, a resident in the 900 block of Prairie Lawn Rd. reported that someone entered their garage through an open door, went inside two of their parked vehicles and stole CDs and a coin purse for a reported loss of $324, police said. It happened between Oct. 25 and Oct. 26, according to police.
