Drunk Man Passes Out Near Fireplace, Goes to Hospital

The information in this blotter was reported by Glenview Police on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. Where arrests are included, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by Glenview Police:

Burglar Breaks Into Multiple Storage Lockers on Milwaukee
A complainant reported that someone had cut the lock of the storage locker they rent in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue and stolen an old computer on Sunday, Dec. 1, according to police. While police were on scene investigating the incident, they discovered that locks were cut off or missing from several other lockers. The estimated loss is more than $50.

Two other complainants reported burglaries to their storage units in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue on Monday, Dec. 2, according to police. In both cases, locks were cut off and items stolen from inside. Police believe the burglaries are associated with several others that took place between Friday, Nov. 30, and Monday, Dec. 2. Estimated loss for both units is $2,000.

Drunk Man Passes Out Near Fireplace, Taken to Hospital
An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Glenview Road reported that a man passed out near the fireplace, according to police. He was taken to the hospital due to his level of intoxication, police said. 

Taxi Rider Leaves Wallet But No Money
An employee of 303 Taxi reported theft of services from a woman who was dropped off in the 300 block of Lincoln Street on Monday, Dec. 2, according to police. She said she would leave her wallet in the backseat as collateral while she went inside to get money, but never returned. The employee did not see which house she went into, but described her as a 19- to 21-year-old Hispanic woman with dark brown hair and braces on her teeth. The cab fare was $17.20, police said.

Purse Stolen On Willow Road
A complainant reported that someone stole their purse as they were loading items into their vehicle outside a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road, according to police. The estimated loss is more than $300.

Unwanted Man Booted From Business
An employee of a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported that a man was walking the halls who did not belong there on Sunday, Dec. 1, according to police. Police found the man and gave him a trespass warning at the employee's request. 

Suspicious Man Rings Doorbell, Looks in Windows
A resident of the 3300 block of Elmdale Avenue reported that a man drove up in a white mini-van and rang the doorbell, then walked around the house looking in the windows on Monday, Dec. 2, according to police. No service people were scheduled to come to the home at the time. The man was described as 40- to 50-years old, white, wearing a knit hat with horizontal stripes, an orange jacket and khaki pants, according to police. 

Car Window Smashed, BB Gun Dents Found
A resident of the 200 block of Nottingham Avenue reported that someone broke the rear driver's side window of their friend's vehicle sometime between Friday, Nov. 29, and Sunday, Dec. 1, according to police. The resident also reported that they found several small dents consistent with a BB gun along the driver's side of their vehicle while it was parked in front of their home. Damage was estimated at $1,500.

A resident of the 200 block of Nottingham Avenue reported that someone caused several small dents consistent with a BB gun along the driver's side of their vehicle while it was parked in the driveway between Friday, Nov. 29, and Sunday, Dec. 1. The estimated damage is $600.

Car Window Smashed on Robincrest
A resident of the 2400 block of Robincrest Lane reported that someone broke the rear driver's side window of their car while it was parked on the street overnight Sunday, Dec. 1, according to police. The estimated damage is $150.

Vandal Paints Shark Face, 'Life is Good' 
Someone painted a large shark face with water above it and a person on a surfboard above the water on the side wall of a business in the 1700 block of Glenview Road, according to police. The individual also used black paint to write "life is good" and "KIKI" next to the shark face, police said. The total painted area measures about 8 feet high and 10 feet wide.
