Engagement Ring Stolen from Home on Robincrest

Quarters, laundry detergent and a pillow case were also stolen from a laundry room on Cove in this edition of the Glenview police blotter.

The following information is from the Glenview Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Theft

A resident of the 1900 block of Robincrest Ln. reported April 25 that someone stole their engagement ring and other jewelry from their home. The estimated loss is $2,500.

A resident reported April 25 that someone called their home telephone and left a voice message stating, “This is the IRS and you are fined $1356.22 and if you don’t pay the police will come to your house and arrest you.” The resident did not return the call and wanted a police report for informational purposes.

The complainant said they were approached by a subject inside a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Rd on April 26. The subject asked him, “What are you slinging”? The complainant told the subject to leave but he wouldn’t. The complainant then shoved the subject away.

Theft

Someone stole 18 quarters, laundry detergent, and a pillow case left in the laundry room at a building in the 4100 block of Cove Ln between 7:30 and 8:45 a.m. April 26.   

Identity Theft

Someone used the identifying information and address of a resident to change their cellphone account and order delivery of a new cellphone to an altered address on April 24. No financial loss incurred by victim.

Disorderly Conduct

Someone egged a home in the 2500 block Pick Lane at 10 p.m. April 26.  

A complainant reported April 27 that an SUV was stopped just into the entrance of a business in the 1600 block of Waukegan Rd. This forced the complainant to stop on Waukegan Road as they waited to pull into the lot. The complainant honked their horn and the SUV pulled forward. The complainant pulled into the lot and the male driver of the SUV got out of his vehicle, swore at the complainant, reached into their vehicle and honked the complainant’s horn. No complaints were signed.

Identity Theft

A resident reported April 28 receiving a collection notice from the Texas Department of Transportation, Tollways, indicating they had $1,125.60 of unpaid tolls on an account listed in their name from 2007-2008. The resident stated they have never been to Texas, never created an account and believes their identity was stolen to create the account.
