Firefighters Rescue Mother and Son

A fire at a high rise on Triumvera Drive forced a mother and her 14-year-old son to be brought to safety by a fire department ladder.

Glenview firefighters rescued a mother and her teenage son from a fire on the ninth story of a condo at 3925 Triumvera Drive, early Wednesday morning, WGN reports.

The boy, Sungwon Choi, 14, and his mother were waiting for help on their balcony when fire fighters arrived to find flames coming out of a ninth floor window, according to WGN.

Most of the building was evacuated and no one needed hospital treatment, although the fire caused about $500,000 worth of damage to the building, the Chicago Tribune reports.
