Friends, Family Remember Lindner Couple

Burt and Zorine Lindner passed away on July 4, 2012, when a train derailment caused a bridge to collapse and crush their vehicle.

It's been nearly a year since Burt and Zorine Lindner died when a train derailment caused a Union Pacific bridge to collapse on their car, but the couple's friends and family continue to share their fondness for the Lindners.

Last month, family members dedicated the Lindners' headstones at a cemetery in the Chicago area, meanwhile Princeton Village residents planted an ornamental tree in their honor and a Wheeling middle school installed a colorful bench in memory of Zorine, who worked at the school, the Glenview Announcements reports.

I always knew how amazing my parents were, I never knew how everybody else thought my parents were so amazing,” the Lindners' son, Matt, told the Glenview Announcements.
