Glenview Blotter: $46K Residential Theft, Slashed Tires and More

Glenview Police provide regular reports on incidents and crimes that occur through out the village.

Below information provided by the Glenview Police Department. 

Identity Theft

The credit card of a resident living in the 1600 block of Primrose Ln. was charged by an unknown individual for $400 on March 18. The estimated loss is $400. 

A resident living in the  1600 block of Blackthorn Dr. reported receiving a letter from the IRS on March 19 requesting information. When the IRS was contacted by the resident, they denied sending the letter. 

A business in the 2400 block of Ravine Way reported that an unknown person used an employee name and business account on March 19 to fraudulently order numerous online items. The reported loss is $720. 

Residential Burglary

A resident living in the 3400 block of Maple Leaf Dr. reported their home being broken into on March 21 between 9 a.m. and 6:27 p.m. Entry was gained by prying the garage door open. The estimated loss is $46,000. 

Unwanted Subject

Two business owners in the 2000 block of Tower Dr. reported that a man came into their stores and acted in an 'abrasive and erratic' manor. The subject preceded to order everything on the menu in one of the stores and had to be escorted out by police. He was given a trespass warning and told not to re-enter either store again, and was driven home by police. 

Criminal Damage

A complainant reported that on March 22, someone slashed the tires on their vehicle which was parked in a lot in the 4500 block of W. Lake St. between 2:30 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. A friend of the complainant whose car also was parked in the lot reported one tire had been slashed between the same hours. The estimated damage to both vehicles is $600.
