Suspicious Garbage Fire, $35K in Stolen Jewelry

Someone reported their car window was smashed and jewelry worth $35,000.00 was taken from the vehicle.

Suspicious Incident

On April 24, a resident on the 3200 block of Greenbriar Road reported their garbage can was on fire, and the cause of the fire could not be determined, according to police.

On April 24, a resident on the 2300 block of Iroquois Drive reported a man knocked on their door, verbally identified himself as a Village of Glenview employee and convinced themto exit the house to see some work supposedly being done at a neighbor’s house, according to police. The man spoke on a two way radio and kept trying to get the resident further and further from their home, though there was no work being done in the area, police say.

Vehicular Burglary

On April 25, a resident on the 3400 block of Springdale Avenue reported someone burglarized their unlocked car while it was parked near their house, according to police. Reported loss was $10.00. 

That day, a resident on the 3100 block of Lindenwood Lane reported three cars parked in their driveway were burglarized overnight, police say. All the vehicles were unlocked, and taken were two GPS units and a radar detector, according to police. Reported loss is $925.00.

On April 26, someone reported their car was burglarized while parked on the 1800 block of Patriot Boulevard, according to police. Entry was made by breaking the front passenger window, and jewelry was taken, police say. Reported loss is $35,000.00.
