Glenview Man Charged with Sexual Assault

A local man remains in jail on $200,000 bond after allegedly sexually assaulting a female relative.

Jose Guadalupe Huerta-Jimenez, 31, has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and remains in jail on $200,000 bond, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced May 28. He is also charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Huerta-Jimenez’s alleged victim—a young female relative—only recently told a friend about the assault, although it originally occurred in November 2010, officials said. At the time of the alleged assault, the victim was living in the same home as Huerta-Jimenez, the girl told police. She didn’t report the incident initially because Huerta-Jimenez told the victim he would deny it, officials said in a recent media release.

“The victim was able to push Huerta-Jimenez away, and left the bedroom for another part of the house,” officials said about the alleged abuse.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police officers arrested Huerta-Jimenez at his home with no incident on May 19, officials said. During an interview with police following his arrest, Huerta-Jimenez admitted to assaulting the victim, according to the media release.
