Glenview Police: Stolen Radar, Loosened Lug Nuts

Aww Lug Nuts!

On Nov. 13, someone reported the lugs nuts on their vehicle were loosened, causing a tire to fall off while the vehicle was being driven, according to police. It’s unknown when or where the tampering occurred, causing about $4,000 worth of damage, police say.

Motor Vehicle Theft

On Nov. 13, someone reported their car was stolen from the 1300 block of Waukegan Rd., where it was parked, according to police. The car was stolen between Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, though the method used to steal the car is unknown, police say.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

On Nov. 13, a delivery company driver reported someone stole a hitch assembly, worth about $300, from their truck while they were making a delivery to a business on the 3100 block of West Lake Ave., according to police.

Home shopping network addiction gone wrong?

On Nov. 13, someone reported that an unknown person used their name and social security number to open an account with a cable company, according to police.

You think someone is using the radar detector to avoid police searching for the radar detector?

On Nov. 14, someone on the 1300 block of East Lake Ave. reported hearing their car alarm going off at 4:00 a.m., according to police. Lately, the car owner discovered a radar detector, worth about $500, had been taken from the vehicle’s glove compartment, police say.

Residential Burglary 

On Nov. 14, someone on the 1400 block of Limar Ln. reported their home had been burglarized, according to police. Entry was made through the unlocked garage door and a wallet and laptop were stolen for an estimated loss of about $1,180, police say.
