The endemic crime of south chicago is infecting the north shore. The policy of closing the housing projects and placing section 8 "renters" into the north suburbs is destroying what safety there was in the past. Research shows the areas where hurricane Katrina people were moved to continue to have substantial crime increases. The shootings that occur daily in south chicago are now occurring in Evanston.....how long before they come to northbrook etc. along with these home invasions....liberal democrats and " political correctness". Are destroying us all...

I AGREE WITH YOU 1 MILLION PERCENT!!!!!!! I WORKED IN THE GHETTO AND IT ISN'T PRETTY, NOR HAS IT GOTTEN BETTER... YOU CAN ALSO BLAME IT ON THE PEOPLE THAT CLOSED THE STEEL MILLS AND OTHER MANUFACTURING PLANTS TO OUTSOURCE MANUFACTURING TO MEXICO, INDIAN AND OR COURSE CHINA... ILLINOIS RESIDENTS MUST HAVE AN ALARM AND PLENTY OF GUNS IN THEIR HOME TO PROTECT THEIR FAMILIES, BECAUSE THE CRIMINALS ALREADY HAVE GUNS IN THEIR HANDS..............

IT'S NOT ABOUT BLACK, HISPANIC OR WHITE... IT'S ABOUT BEHAVIOR...

99% OF SECTION-8 RECIPIENTS ARE PRODUCTS OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT, WHICH IS WHY THE SUBURBS ARE NOW HAVING HUGE PROBLEMS WITH DRUG OVERDOSES AND DEATHS.

THE NORTHERN SUBURBS ARE NO LONGER THE CROWN JEWEL OF ILLINOIS, AND YOU CAN THANK ALL THOSE LIBERALS FOR THAT.......................

Stop it, stop the politicking! "Oh dear, the poor are coming....run for your lives!" Build gates or build schools; this is the choice. If the road of austerity is pursued then you can expect more of this. Thank liberals for the few remaining saftey nets that the poor have. Shame on you at this time of year...as you spend $1000 on garland and lighting while others are struggling to heat their homes and eat. All good, just stay out of our beautiful towns. Disgusting.

I have encountered welfare recipients with more integrity than some residence of the North Shore. Partisan rehtoric is a cowards way out! If you want your community to be a better place; get off your throne of judgement and do something constructive to help the poor in your community.

Well. The many people whose homes were robbed made a "contribution" I guess....
Matthew Newman December 13, 2012 at 12:19 am
Well B, you don't have to worry about the "political correctness" you are clearly anti-poverty. What you need to ask yourself (well said Mark) is what are you doing about it? By yiur rhetoric I would guess, buying a taller fence. We are all primal beings at our core; there is typically a motive behind anyone's action. You are right on one count; if policy continues to ignore the needs of this expanding segment of our population you will be inconvenienced by more of them.

This is the giving back, that the Liberals speak of, and if they happen to find your Teenage Daughter home, well you left her home defenseless and unarmed. 911 is only good if you have 10 minutes of safety, to call, explain the situation, give your address and wait for the Cop to get done with his doughnut and coffee!

Sounds like an informative meeting. Local officials need to coordinate and intensify efforts toRead More properly manage storm water from major storm systems that are much more common than they used to be.
