Glenview Police: Fake Police Make Suspicious Phone Call

On Nov. 17, a Glenview resident reported they received calls from a man and woman soliciting money for the "Police Protective Society," according to Glenview police.

The following reports were provided by the Glenview Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and do not indicate guilt.

Theft at Park Center

On Nov. 15, someone reported their tablet computer and sweatshirt worth about $160 were stolen from an unlocked locker at the Park Center, according to police.

Domestic Battery

On Nov. 15, Faustino Ortiz, 24, of Glenview was arrested on the 3100 block of Thornberry Ln. and charged with Domestic Battery and Interfering with Reporting of Domestic Violence, police said.

Leave the Lug Nuts Alone!

On Nov. 15, someone reported four chrome lug nut covers worth about $160 were stolen off their vehicle at an unknown location, according to police.

Aggravated Battery

On Nov. 16, Conrad Tkaczyk, 30, of Glenview, wa sarrested on the 2500 block of Waukegan Rd. and charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, fleeing/attempt to elude police and resisting arrest of a peace officer, according to police. The charges are related to an incident that occurred in the 1500 block of Topp Ln. shortly before the arrest, police said.

Suspicious Phone Call

On Nov. 17, a Glenview resident reported they received calls from a man and woman soliciting money for the “Police Protective Society,” according to Glenview police. During one call, the female asked for the complainant’s checking account routing number, police say.

Residential Burglary

On Nov. 17, a resident on the 3700 block of Miller Dr. reported a male came to their home and spoke to them about a ditch in their back yard, according to police. The resident went outside with the person to discuss the issue, and police say a short time later the resident realized someone had been in their house and rummaging through several cabinets. Police say $1,600.00 in cash was reported stolen from the home.

Tire Theft

On Nov. 19, an employee of a business on the 600 block of Waukegan Rd. reported someone stole the tires and rims off a vehicle that was parked in their lot, according to police. Reported loss is $2,000.00.
