Intruder Steals $35K Watch from Patriot Blvd Home

A resident of the home reported hearing someone in the home in the middle of the afternoon, then found the watch box and the front door broken open.

The following information is from the Glenview Police Department. 

Residential Burglary

A resident of the 1400 block of Patriot Blvd. reported hearing someone in their home March 27 at 2 p.m. When they exited the bedroom they saw a box for a watch on the staircase and the front door broken open. Officers searched the home but did not locate anyone. The estimated loss is $35,000.

Theft

An employee of a business in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Rd. reported a woman aged 60-65 yrs. old was caught on video surveillance stealing money from a tip jar located next to the register on March 27. The estimated loss is over $10.

Minors Possessing Alcohol

On March 29 at 2:30 a.m. three people were cited under village ordinance in the 1700 block of Greenwood Rd. for Minor in Possession of Alcohol. They were a 19 year old from Golf, a 19 year old from Glenview and a 20-year-old from Glenview.

Identity Theft

On March 30 a resident of the 3400 block of Winchester Ln. stated they received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service, and the Illinois Department of Revenue, advising them it appeared they were a victim of identity theft. Unknown person(s) had filed for 2013 tax return using their name and social security number. No suspect information was provided.

Criminal Damage to Property

A resident of the 3600 block of Ari Ln. reported someone broke the windshield on their vehicle while it was parked on the driveway between 3 and 10:30 a.m. March 30. The estimated damage is over $500.

Theft

A resident of the 1200 block of Canterbury Ln. reported  that on March 30 at 8:30 a.m. they discovered their flag pole on the ground in a neighbor’s yard but their American flag was missing. The estimated loss is $35.

Theft

A citizen reported their wallet was stolen from their purse while they were at a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Rd. on March 31. When they realized their wallet was stolen they called their credit card company and learned two fraudulent charges were made at two different businesses for $2,000 and $5,000. 

Identity Theft

On March 31 a resident of the 1600 block of Waukegan Rd. reported someone used their identity to open up a cable account.  They received a collection notice for an unpaid bill, $244.96, for an account they do not have.
