Last Week's Condo Fire Possibly Caused By Cigarettes

A fire at a high rise on Triumvera Drive forced a mother and her 14-year-old son to be brought to safety by a fire department ladder.

Last week's Triumvera Drive fire, during which two people were rescued from a balcony, may have been caused by discarded smoking material, the Glenview Announcements reports.

Glenview firefighters rescued a mother and her teenage son from a fire on the ninth story of a condo at 3925 Triumvera Drive, early Wednesday morning, WGN reports.

The boy, Sungwon Choi, 14, and his mother were waiting for help on their balcony when fire fighters arrived to find flames coming out of a ninth floor window, according to WGN.
