Lightning Strike Causes Glenview Roof Fire

A house at 2760 Manu Ct. was hit by lightning Monday night, causing a small roof fire.

Lightning hit the roof of the house at 2760 Manu Ct. in Glenview on Monday night, starting a fire near the home's attic, according to the Glenview Fire Department. 

The flame was contained using a fire extinguisher and there were no injuries to the residents or firefighters, the fire department reported.

The ceiling on the second floor master bedroom was pulled by the fire, causing some water damage to the house because of rainfall, but the roof was sealed by Tuesday afternoon.
