Man Found Crouching Outside Home in Middle of Night

A $1,000 wedding band was also stolen in a separate incident.

The following information is from the Glenview Police Department.

Disorderly Conduct

A resident of the 1000 block of Queens Ln. reported hearing a noise outside their front door at 1:40 a.m. April 16. When they looked through the window they saw a man crouched near the door. The man saw the resident and ran away. The resident described the man as 20-30 years old, 5'08" to 6' tall and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

The complainant reported their ex-landlord has been showing up at their place of work in Glenview because they moved out of their rented property early. The ex-landlord was contacted by phone and told not to return to the Glenview business. They stated they understood.

The complainant reported during a ride home in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Ave. at 12:30 a.m. April 17, a passenger in the car pulled the complainant’s hair and scratched their right cheekbone. The driver and suspect both stated the complainant was the aggressor. No complaints were signed.

Criminal Damage to Property

Someone damaged a mailbox in the 900 block of Kings Ln. April 17 at 11:30 p.m. Witnesses saw a teenage boy running westbound on Kings Ln. at the time of the incident. Estimated damage is $200. 

Theft

A Skokie resident reported someone stole their mother’s $1,000 wedding band while she was at a business in the 3900 block of Glenview Rd. between April 10 and 12.

Identity Theft

A resident reported April 15 that they were unable to file their tax returns because the Internal Revenue Service stated one was already filed using their information. 

Disorderly Conduct

Police received a report April 18 at 11 a.m. that a bald white man with a small dog driving a blue Volvo pulled along the bus stop at 1400 Milwaukee Ave. and asked directions. He appeared to be masturbating in the vehicle.

Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property

A resident reported April 18 that someone broke a window and screen, worth $300, at the field house at Sleepy Hollow Park.
