Men Steal $1,400 in Liquor, Cigarettes

Someone also defaced a lawn with chemicals, creating a giant 'W.'

The following information is from the Glenview Police Department.

Retail Theft

An employee for a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Rd. reported they discovered a retail theft that occurred on June 16 around 11:30 p.m. Video footage shows two men going to the locked liquor cabinets, unlocking the cabinet and removing several expensive bottles of alcohol and cigarettes worth over $1,400.

A resident of Addison, IL reported June 18 that he was battered by a male subject while he was at a business in the 2400 block of Sanders Rd. The offender accused him of almost hitting him with his vehicle and repeatedly pushed him in the chest. The offender left prior to officer’s arrival.

Criminal Trespass

The fire department responded to Catherine Crowley Park for an activated fire alarm in the field house midnight June 17. On arrival fire, personnel saw that fire extinguishers had been sprayed all over the floor.

Forgery

A resident reported their landscaper asked them if they could pay their landscaping bill in full for the year. They told him no and on June 16 saw a check that was written to the landscaper for $135 was changed to $1,635.

Suspicious Incident

A resident of the 4000 block of Chester Dr. reported they heard footsteps on the linoleum floor in their residence between 12:30-1 p.m. June 19. The resident said no one else was home. No one was found in the home.

Criminal Damage to Property

A resident of the 3100 block of Bellwood Ln. reported sometime between May 28-29, someone sprayed a chemical on their back lawn turning the grass yellow. The pattern is in the shape of a “W” and is 15’ x 5’.

Theft

A resident of Northbrook reported they were at a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Rd. at noon June 21 when their cellphone was stolen. The estimated loss is $300.

Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property

An employee for the Glenview Park District reported between 9 p.m. June 22 and 5 a.m. June 23 someone damaged a table umbrella near the Pro Shop at 800 Shermer Rd. The estimated damage is $80.

Forgery

A resident of the 800 block of Fairhope Ave. reported they discovered two checks they lost were cashed at an unknown bank in the amounts of $4,428 and $2,600. They did not recognize the name the checks were written to.

Battery

A victim reported being pushed by a woman in the 1700 block of Chestnut Ave. as they were closing their business for the day June 23. The woman was intoxicated and refused medical assistance. The victim did not wish to pursue criminal complaints.
