Mexican Fraud Call Asks for Child's Ransom
The following arrest information was supplied by the Glenview Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Harassment
On July 27, a Glenview resident reported receiving a text message directing them to call the number immediately, then they were told by an unknown man the resident's son had struck a 7-year-old with his car and is being held in a basement, according to police. The Glenview resident was told to pay $1,000.00 for their son’s release, but police say Glenview officers determined the call originated in Mexico and that the resident's son was unharmed.
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
On July 27, Andrew L. Juravic, 23, of Glenview, was cited under village ordinance for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than
10 grams of cannabis after a traffic stop on the 1900 block of Glenview Road, according to police.
Vehicular Burglary
On July 25, a Glenview resident reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle and removed several items from the back seat while the vehicle
was parked on the 3600 block of Glenview Road, according to police. The estimated loss is $1,050.00, police say.
On July 28, a resident on the 1700 block of Maclean Court reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle, which was parked on their driveway, and removed loose change from the center console, according to police. Reported loss is $6.00.
