Multiple Thefts From Children, Recurring Tire Slasher

In one case, a 10-year-old boy's backpack was stolen while he was flying home from Orlando.

The following information is from the Glenview Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

A man reported that someone stole his daughter’s jacket and boots on Feb. 10 between 16:30-8 p.m. at the Park Center 2400 Chestnut Ave. The estimated loss is more than $200.

A resident reported that their 10-year-old son’s backpack containing his school I-Pad was stolen after he checked his backpack in as luggage during a flight from Orlando to Chicago on Jan. 9. The estimated loss is $500.

Burglary

Someone stole an item from a closed business in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Rd overnight Feb. 10. The point of entry is believed to be a rear door to the business. The estimated loss is $1,000.

Criminal Damage to Property

A resident in the 2200 block of Tanglewood Dr. reported someone punctured the rear passenger tire on their vehicle between 7-9 a.m. Feb. 11 while it was parked in front of their residence. They reported on two other occasions, one in December and the other January of, someone had flattened other tires on their vehicle while parked in front of their residence. In both previous incidents the damage had occurred sometime after 7 a.m. The estimated damage is more than $300.

Criminal Damage to Property

A resident in the 800 block of Long Rd. reported someone damaged the driver side mirror on their vehicle while it was parked on the street in front of their house overnight on Feb. 11. The estimated damage is more than $150.

Recovered Stolen Motor Vehicle

A resident reported receiving a phone call from a vehicle tracking company that told them a vehicle they reported stolen to this agency on Feb. 3 was located at the City of Chicago auto pound. They retrieved their vehicle, which had several items stolen from it.  The estimated loss is over $4,000.
