Police Blotter: Nearly $6K in Forged Checks, Attempted Home Burglary, Pot Citation

Glenview PD incident reports March 15 – March 21

Theft
An employee of , 1901 Pickwick Ave., reported someone cut a metal chain that secured a fence and took water heaters and pipes between March 15 and March 16. The estimated loss is $1,255.

Criminal Damage to Property
An employee of AAA Lock & Key, 1730 Waukegan Rd., reported someone broke a single steel mesh window on the side of the business between March 15 and March 16. The estimated loss is $50.

Criminal Damage
A resident in the 900 block of Buccaneer Drive reported someone flattened two tires and scratched his car between March 16 and March 17. The estimated loss is $1,100.

Attempted Burglary
On March 18 at 9:00 p.m., a complainant reported that someone attempt to gain entry to a home in the 1800 block of Linneman Street. An investigation revealed a brick had been thrown through a window and the home’s attached garage was entered through an exterior door that was forced open. The estimated loss due to damage is $1,100.

Possession of Cannabis
On March 18 at 11:15 p.m., Deandre Wright, 30, of Elkhart, IN, was cited under a village ordinance for possession of cannabis after a traffic stop in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Drug Offense
On March 19 at 6:08 p.m., officers responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the 1400 block of Pebble Creek Drive. Four juveniles were found in the vehicle and cited under a village ordinance for possession of cannabis. One juvenile received an additional ticket for possession of drug paraphernalia. They were all turned over into the custody of their parents.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle
On March 20, a resident in the 2300 block of Mohawk Lane reported a GPS device was stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in his driveway overnight. The estimated loss is $350.

In Possession of Alcohol
On March 21 at 12:38 a.m., Jessica L. Thomason, 18, of Mundelein, IL, was cited under a village ordinance for minor in possession of alcohol. She was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped in the 800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. A juvenile also in the car was cited under an ordinance for minor in possession of alcohol and curfew violation.

Criminal Damage to Property
On March 21, residents of Bishop Gate Condominiums in 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported a theft and criminal damage to property after they discovered damage to a commercial dryer and a lock stolen from a storage unit. The time of occurrence is unknown.  The estimated loss is $55.

Criminal Trespass
On March 21, a complainant reported trespassing at a vacant house in the 1500 block of Greenwood Road.

Forgery
On March 21, a complainant reported stolen checks were cashed at the , 1633 Waukegan Rd. The incidents took place between Aug. 13, 2010 and Dec. 10, 2010. The loss is $5,870.
