Police Blotter: Toy Gun Scare, Car Burglary, Stolen Macbook & More

Glenview PD reported incidents Aug. 9-15

Battery
On Aug. 9 a complainant reported being battered by an acquaintance in the 100 block of Shermer Rd.  

Suspicious Incident
On Aug. 9 a resident in the 1000 block of Crystal Ct. reported someone had been unlocking and unlatching the gate on her fence. 

Disorderly Conduct
On Aug. 9 at 11:24 p.m. Andres Bautista Sr., 44, of Northfield was cited under Village Ordinance for disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred in the 1700 block of MacLean Ct.

Found Property
On Aug. 10 a worker doing construction at the intersection of Pine St. and Grove St. reported someone knocked over all the barricades protecting the site. A cell phone was found in the area. It is unknown if the owner of the cell phone was involved with the barricades.

Criminal Trespass
On Aug. 11 a representative of a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Ave. reported an ex-employee was walking around the business’ parking lot. The ex-employee was located and was given a trespass warning.

Aggravated Battery
On Aug. 12 a complainant reported being battered in the 2500 block of West Lake Ave. after leaving a party at a residence in that area. 

Burglary
On Aug. 12 a construction worker reported a burglary to a house under construction in the 1900 block of Linneman St.  Entry to the house was made by unknown means and a rigid tile saw was taken, according to the man. The incident occurred between 7 p.m. on Aug. 11 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 12. Estimated loss is $650.00.

Theft
On Aug 12 a representative of a business in the 1900 block of Waukegan Rd. reported someone stole a Lenovo 500GB hard drive from the business. The incident occurred between July 20 and Aug. 11. Esitamted loss is $100.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle
On Aug. 12 a resident in the 1800 block of Henley St. reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle which was parked at his residence and stole numerous hand and power tools and a Garmin GPS. Estimated loss is $5,150.

Residential Burglary
On Aug. 12 a resident in the 1900 block of Linneman St. reported someone stole numerous power tools and two bicycles from his unlocked attached garage. The incident occurred between 10:00 p.m. on Aug. 11 and 7:40 a.m. on Aug. 13. Estimated loss is $2,350.

Suspicious Incident
On Aug. 12 at 7:51 p.m., a complainant reported seeing two males pulling on car door handles in the parking lot of 1900 Chestnut Ave. 

Criminal Damage
On Aug. 13 a complainant reported someone broke the driver’s side window of his vehicle while it was parked in the 2700 block of Park Ln.  The incident occurred on Aug. 13 at about 2:34 a.m. and estimated loss is $150.

Criminal Damage
On Aug. 13 a employee reported someone damaged a green at the , 2800 West Lake Ave. The incident occurred between 6 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 5:30 a.m. on Aug. 13. Estimated loss is $200.

Theft
On Aug. 13 an employee at , 2100 Pfingsten Rd., reported someone stole an Apple computer from an unlocked cabinet in an office. The incident occurred between 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 1:12 p.m. on Aug 12. Estimated loss is $600.

Disorderly Conduct
On Aug. 13 at 4:35 p.m. a complainant reported seeing the occupants of a Toyota Celica pointing a toy pistol at other vehicles. Officers located the vehicle in the 1500 block of Patriot Blvd. Three subjects in the vehicle were identified and the toy pistol was located.  No complaints were signed.

Deceptive Practice
On Aug. 13 a business owner in the 1800 block of Glenview Rd. reported receiving numerous checks for payment that were returned because of insufficient funds.

Disorderly Conduct
On Aug. 13 at 4:51 p.m. officers responded to two calls in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Ave. reporting that occupants of a Chevrolet Lumina were pointing guns at passing cars. The Lumina was stopped in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Ave. The driver and two passengers were removed from the vehicle and identified. Two replica Beretta 9mm handgun cigarette lighters and one holster were found in the vehicle. The replicas were turned over to the Glenview Police Department for destruction. No complaints were signed.  Officers from the Cook County Sheriff’s Police and the Niles Police Department assisted.

Burglary from Motor Vehicle
On Aug. 13 a resident in the 1800 block of Tanglewood Ln. reported a burglary to her unlocked vehicle which was parked at her residence. The incident occurred between 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 6:44 p.m. on Aug. 13. Coins and an identification card with an estimated loss of $20 were taken.   

Residential Burglary
On Aug. 13 a resident in the 900 block of Raleigh Rd. reported someone entered his unlocked attached garage and stole three sets of golf clubs. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. on Aug. 10 and 6:52 p.m. on Aug. 13. Estimated loss is $2,300.

Criminal Damage to Property
On Aug. 12 a complainant reported someone slashed two of her car’s tires while her vehicle was parked at a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Rd. The incident occurred on Aug. 12 between 6:30 p.m. and 9:08 p.m. Estimated loss is $300.

Criminal Trespass
On Aug. 14 a complainant reported seeing several males in a vacant house located in the 1300 block of Glenwood Ave. 

Burglary from Motor Vehicle
On Aug. 14 a complainant reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the 1800 block of Chestnut Ave. Taken were a purse, wallet, credit cards, cell phone, iPod, gloves and other miscellaneous property. The purse and wallet were found later in bushes located near the vehicle. The incident occurred on Aug. 14 between 6:30 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. Estimated loss is $650.

Curfew Violation
On Aug. 15 at 3:18 a.m. two juveniles were cited under Village Ordinance for curfew. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Waukegan Rd. 

Criminal Defacement
On Aug. 15 a Glenview Park District employee reported graffiti had been written on the bathroom walls at 1001 Zenith Dr.  Most of the graffiti is not legible. It is unknown what was used to write it. Estimated loss is $100.
